Starting to Bloom
The sunshine and wind were helpful today, and the bees were out buzzing around. Spring time/ Easter time is always a happy time to be a farmer. The goals and expectations of the growing season are at hand. The first plantings of broccoli, collards, kolh-rabi, and cabbage are already needing to be cultivated, and the hoes re-sharpened. Those are a part of tomorrow's project list. Today was spent with the farmstand open, and we had a good turnout. Thanks again for supporting your local organic farmers. Pretty much the rest of the day was spent putting up the trellis for the sugar snap peas to climb on. Hopefully near the weekend we will be able to get more planting done in the field. Last, on a very bright note, our sunflowers planted the last week of January are starting to show their heads, and should be in full bloom for the weekend.
